1 Year Stats

We had our 1 year visit with the doctor on Friday.  It was nice to finally see her for a well visit for once.  In fact, that was the first comment she made.  Phoenix was happy and in a great mood-very different from our usual visits there.

He weighed in at 23.7 lbs (50-75%) and is 30.6" (again, 50-75%).  She said he seems to be "perfect."  I couldn't help but agree :)  He is signing more, thank-you, food, all finished, and washing hands.  We are working on you're welcome and please right now.  He is also saying bye-bye, dada, and duck rather consistently and correctly.  Also attempting thank-you while signing it.  Comes out tah.  We have heard bath and tata a few times.  STILL no Mama :(

His ears looked great.  Thank you God!  I love that we are finally over that hurdle.  It took about 2 weeks post surgery to get him back to himself, but we are THERE and that is ALL that matters!!!!

He is still not walking.  He is standing great and goes from the sit down to stand up position by himself.  He will take a step, sometimes 2, but nothing regularly enough to count.  I'm in no hurry for it to happen though!!!!

He has pooped in the potty almost everyday this week.  If you put him on the potty and he doesn't have to go, he will scream bloody murder.  However, if you put him on it and he does have to go, he just sits there, pushes a time or two and we have poop.  We are not pressing this issue, just if I happen to catch it at the right time, we do it.  Nothing too structured but more of an introduction.

He is eating anything and everything again.  I am so excited about that.  He even ate a whole 4" subway sandwich for dinner the other night all by himself.  He is now eating strictly table food-basically whatever we eat, he eats.  He prefers to do it himself and doesn't like to have his food broken into little pieces either.  He wants it whole.  I hope I don't jinx this, but we are officially done with the boobster.  It hasn't quite been a week since our last feeding, but I still say it counts!  He was struggling with that morning feed, but one morning he just decided he was done.  And that we are!!!!!

He loves cars, trucks, wheels and balls.  Anything boy-he loves.  He also loves the water.  If we could swim everyday, he'd be the happiest baby around!!!  He is still doing great at the movies.  We went to a new story time yesterday.  He seemed to enjoy himself, although I think he was happier because all his buddies were there!!!

Phoenix Michael Lang, what a blessing you are to your Dada and I.  We couldn't ask for a better piece to fit our puzzle.  You are more than we deserve but love you even greater because of it.  We love you to the moon and back Buttah!!!
