Party Time

To be 100% honest, I had NO desire to have a party for Phoenix this year.  I just don't really see the point.  Simply have my parents, sister and his Godparents over for dinner and be done with it.  Well, apparently in the past year, the tables have turned in our house.  Jason insisted I do something.  Well, being 148 degrees outside and 448 months pregnant, I decided Chuck E Cheese.  Close to home, nothing for me to do (other than get a cake since I opted out of theirs), and perfect timing.  I still kept the same invite list too.

Let me just tell you.  It was awesome!  Everyone had a fabulous time, the food was actually good, the entertainment (show, Chuck E, etc.) were fantastic and I had to do nothing!

I'll let the pictures do the talking.  My camera quit working during the party, so I didn't get all the pictures I would have liked.  Oh well.  Here's my Buttah Heads special day.

My Oh My Time Sure Does Fly.

I can't believe 2 years has come and gone.  Just like that.  As quick as the blink of an eye.  It seems too sad to be true.  My best friend is growing up on me.  Pretty soon he'll be too cool for his Mama.  Never for his Dada though.

The past two years have definitely been an adventure.  A good one though.  One we are looking forward to experiencing all over again with Luna.  Phoenix has set the bar high.  I mean, real high.  He truly has been the best kid in the whole world.  Not because he's mine either.  He has always been a great sleeper, eater, under control kid who loves life to the fullest.  He explores his surroundings, listens to his elders, learns from his mistakes, and loves like he'll never see you again.  His manners, respect and genuine concern far exceed any hope I ever had for him.  At age 2.

His voice.  I'm totally in love.  The way he says things.  Seriously, can't get any cuter.  The excitement that shines through the high pitch.  The sadness that because so obvious to the ear when he is upset.  The sincerity that echos each and every word.  The "I sorry" that skips the ears and goes straight to the heart when he has done something wrong.  It truly amazes me.  I hope that never changes.

He makes living life for him so easy.  We were always told how much having a baby changes your life.  Well, it hasn't all that much.  God has created Phoenix as a perfect fit to our puzzle.  He makes us live for him, instead of for each other.  He teaches us daily.  He reminds us to buckle.  He reminds us to say "Bess you" when someone sneezes.  He reminds us to love God more than we've ever loved him before.  Even more than yesterday.  He reminds us what life is all about.  That we are in this together.  Just the three of us (for now).

He loves exploring life.  Rather at the zoo, his cousins house, the lake feeding the ducks, or simply at home.  He loves exploring his environment and learning from it.  The teacher in me loves this.  I love seeing him gain new insight regarding a situation.  I love how he remembers it.  I love how much he loves it.  I love his spunk for life.

Buttah Head-you have truly made us proud.  We wouldn't change anything about you or our life with you.  We look forward to what the next years bring us as we continue to grow together as a family.  A family of God.  You are our world and we'd go to the moon and back for you.  There are soo many things I want to write in fear of forgetting these wonderful times, but knowing we have many more years of adding to them make it okay for me.  I love making memories each and every day with you, My Love.  Thanks for the best 2 years of you.

Another post to follow with b'day party pictures.  Here's a sneak peak though :).
